In sports and cultural achievements, Kurukshetra University is the leading institution in the country. Six training centres are working in which 4000 students have been trained till date.
Five more research centres are coming up in cutting-edge research areas. Kurukshetra University has two National research facilities: Ion Beam Centre and Low Temperature Thermochronology Centre. On measure of our reputation is the high quality of research produced in traditional and modern disciplines over the last seven decades of our existence. The University also has 284 affiliated colleges and institutes in 7 districts of Haryana. The University offers about 171 programs on the campus in 49 Departments/ Institutes through a highly qualified faculty. With a view to impart education as per latest curriculum and pedagogy, KU has started Learning Outcome Based Curriculum (LOCF) in all the on campus programmes from the session 2020-21 to enhance the knowledge, employability, skills and cultural and ethical values of our students. Highly experienced and qualified faculty members, which form the backbone of the University, continuously engage in the maintenance and enhancement of student-centric learning environment through innovative pedagogy. Retaining its position among the top ranking institutions of the country, the University has been placed at 8th position among the state universities in the Category-I by the Ministry of Education and has been awarded academic autonomy.
The University is continuously building on its reputation of an A + grade institution accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a score of 3.52. Over the past 65 years, Kurukshetra University has grown in stature and recognition of its commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Located on the Western bank of famed Brahm Sarovar, the University has a sprawling green campus spread over 473 acres. Established in 1956 as a Sanskrit University, presently it offers education and research programmes in diverse areas of science, engineering and technology, business studies, humanities, social sciences, performing arts and sports.
